Theme days

Theme days are days that are usually at the start or end of a unit.

They are planned and resourced by our team. This means we can ensure that the experience days truely enhance the learning within the specific subject learning journeys.

Ancient Civilisations Day

Year 5 learn about the Ancient Civilisations of the Indus Valley, Shang Dynasty China, Ancient Sumer and Ancient Egypt.

1666 day

The day explores what life might have been like during the restoration Period. We bake cakes, considering what might have caused the fire, and explore the events of the Great Fire of London, looking at some picture sources.

Carnival Day - Brazil

Anglo-Saxon Day

Year 4 spend the day exploring features of Anglo-Saxon culture. They recreate decorating patterns on shields, imitate iconic Saxon pottery,  experiment with runes and baked Anglo-Saxon oat cakes. In the afteroon, they sit around a fire and share stories.

Victorian Day - Florence Nightingale & Mary Seacole
