Thursday 11th July - Blooming Barrels Festival Place Project

We hopped on the local bus and went into town to attend our second session of the project. We watched a bespoke show at the Anvil and were very excited to see some of our products, from the previous workshop, on show. After lunch, we planted flowers in our decorated barrels. These barrels will be on show in Festival Place over the summer. Look out for them next time you are there.

We were nominated by Festival Place to work with the Beardy Gardener. Children attended an afternoon workshop in school on 22nd May . The theme of the workshop was Friendship Gardens so the children talked about wellbeing and how having a garden helps with friendship and mental health. In a craft session, the children made bees which will be used for their project in Festival Place.  The children also created verses with the guitarist for a song which will be included in a theatre show at The Anvil in July. Children planted flower seeds which they took home to monitor their growth. To end the session, the children showed the Beady Gardener and his team what they have been growing in the school gardening club and were given tips to improve their garden. It was such a fantastic afternoon for the children.
