Nature’s Future
Nature in the UK is in trouble- its future is in our hands. Our school grounds are changing too. We need to think about bout a better future for our school grounds. We must take action together with others at our school and our local community to make a change!
Children from Years 3 and 4 walked around the school grounds and identified areas that they were not particularly pleased with i.e. the pond, the court yard, the wild area and the front of the office to mention a few. They watched a video of sustainable schools around the world and discussed what they could do to improve the areas in their school grounds.
In groups they put all their ideas in a plan. They worked really well together and in a very short time they created some amazing inspiring plans. They were able to talk enthusiastically about what they need to change.
A very productive afternoon! We have some engineers and architects in the building.
