STEM Week - 14th-18th October 2024
STEM week provides us with an opportunity for the children to take part in fun, hands-on experiments. For 2 afternoons, the children could choose between 4 workshops, these were run with pupil from across the phases - Years 1 and 2, Years 3 and 4; and Years 5 and 6. Each workshop looked at a different aspect of science or design and allowed the children to conduct experiments, research or solve design problems.
The week concluded with design challenge. The children worked in groups to design and build a catapult. They were judged on how far their design could launch a marshmallow. The best catapult from each class then competed head-to-head in an exciting school finale.
