PE

At Park View, we use the Get Set 4 PE scheme. It provides us with a curriculum-aligned progressive and comprehensive resource. The scheme is designed to develop fundamental movement skills, create a positive attitude toward physical activity, and help children build physical literacy, confidence, and teamwork. In addition, to providing our teachers with high quality lesson plans, they have access to on profession support.

Children have two PE lessons taught in a week; one with the professional PE coach and the other with their class teacher. Each half-term, two sports or skills are covered.

Please click the links below to view the Long Term Plan and Skills and Knowledge progression, as set out by Get Set 4 PE.

In Year 5, the children receive 15 swimming lessons. The children are taught by the team from Kim Chapman's Swim School, in the pool at QMC.

For the last 2 years (Summer Term 2024 and 2025) we have been apart of the Hampshire Cricket Board's Time to Shrine programme. Years 3 and 5 have received expert coaching in cricket from a professional coach who is part of the Hampshire programme.

Sports Teams and Competitions

At Park View, we place many teams into local school leagues. The children will train together during lunch breaks and after schools clubs. We try to make sure as many children as possible have the opportunity to compete in these teams.
