This report outlines Park View Primary School’s PE Curriculum and how Sports Premium funding has been utilised during the academic year 2025–2026 to enhance the quality, inclusivity and breadth of physical education, physical activity and sport across the school.

Physical activity plays a vital role in supporting the physical health, emotional wellbeing and personal development of children and young people. Regular participation in physical activity contributes to:

School Vision and Objectives
Our PE and sport provision is guided by the following key objectives:
- To ensure all pupils are physically active every day.

Curriculum Provision
Curriculum Structure
Our PE curriculum is progressive, inclusive and engaging from Nursery through to Year 6. The PE Co-ordinator works closely with our specialist sports coach to plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons that develop competence, confidence and enjoyment in sport and physical activity.
Nursery
- Introduction to movement, balance, coordination and basic sporting activities.
Reception

Years 1–6 A broad and balanced curriculum including:

Year 5 Swimming Swimming lessons are delivered at the local swimming pool during the Autumn Term, supporting pupils to meet the National Curriculum requirements for swimming and water safety.
Assessment grids are completed each half term to monitor progress and ensure pupils develop skills progressively throughout their primary education.
Get Set 4 PE
Park View continues to utilise the Get Set 4 PE platform to support the delivery of a high-quality, knowledge-rich and progressive PE curriculum.

We continue to provide a wide range of free sports clubs throughout the year, delivered before school, during lunchtime and after school.

Competitive Sport

Inclusion and Accessibility
Inclusivity remains at the heart of our PE and sport provision.
We are proud to provide:

- Access to BSL communicators for pupils within our Resource Provision for Deaf Children
- Targeted support for pupils with SEND
- Opportunities to participate in both competitive and non-competitive events

School Games and Participation Events
Alongside competitive fixtures, pupils have participated in a range of inclusive festivals and participation events, including:

These events provide valuable opportunities for children who may not typically participate in competitive sport to experience new activities in a supportive and enjoyable environment.
Pupil Leadership: PE Ambassadors and Sports Captains
Our Sports Captains and PE Ambassadors continue to play a significant role in promoting physical activity across the school.
Supported by our sports coach and the Basingstoke School Games Organiser (SGO), they:
- Organise and lead playground activities
- Support sports festivals and competitions
- Assist staff during sporting events
- Act as positive role models
- Encourage participation across all year groups
Through these leadership opportunities, pupils develop valuable communication, organisation and coaching skills.

Park View Awarded Gold School Games Mark for 2025–2026
We are delighted to announce that Park View Primary School has been awarded the Gold School Games Mark for the academic year 2025–2026.
The School Games Mark is a nationally recognised accreditation, supported by Sport England and facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust. It recognises schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to physical education, school sport and wider physical activity.
