Help in the Community
Year 6 Help in the Community
This term, Year 6 have begun taking part in a weekly Help in the Community initiative as part of our commitment to being active members of our wider community. Each week, a different group of children from Year 6 will venture out to support our local area through a range of helpful activities.
To launch the initiative, the children focused on our own school grounds, taking part in a litter-picking session around the outside areas. They thoroughly enjoyed giving back to the community and were even happy to give up part of their positive reward time on a Friday afternoon to do so. Some pupils turned it into a friendly competition, challenging each other to see who could collect the most rubbish around the school site!
Their enthusiasm and teamwork paid off - by the end of the session, the children had gathered and disposed of four full bin bags of litter, leaving our school environment cleaner, tidier and more welcoming for everyone.
We are incredibly proud of Year 6 for their positive attitude and community spirit and we look forward to seeing the impact of their efforts in the weeks ahead.
