Young Interpreters
Introducing our Young Interpreters at Park View Primary School
At Park View Primary School, our Young Interpreters are a dedicated group of pupils trained to support children who are new to our school community. We understand that starting at a new school—especially when English is not your first language—can feel overwhelming. That’s why we’re here to help.
Our team includes pupils who speak a variety of languages, which makes it easier to communicate with new arrivals and their families. We act as buddies, helping new children feel welcome, make friends, and settle in during playtimes and lunchtimes.
We know that being new can be a daunting experience, so we offer kindness, reassurance, and guidance to make sure no one feels nervous, confused, or alone. At Park View, we celebrate diversity and believe that everyone deserves to feel included and valued.
Every fortnight, we meet with our adult coordinators to share ideas and improve how we support others. Each Young Interpreter brings their own unique strengths, and together we make a difference.
We are rooted in care—and we rise with purpose.
